Michael Chekhov Workshop
From September 28 to October 2, 2020, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This 5-days course is a quick immersion in the extraordinary world of Michael Chekhov, this genius actor and teacher, who was one of the most brilliant disciples of Constantin Stanislavski.
This workshop will allow you
To have an overview of this concrete and coherent (holistic) acting method
To quickly acquire a "toolbox" immediately applicable in the professional environment, which will enrich or lay the foundations of your acting technique
To discover or rediscover, how acting can be fun and healthy, when it focuses on action and not directly on emotion or psychology
To measure how much movement or imagination are linked and feed off each other, generating the essentials emotions to acting
Among the different tools of the Chekhov Method we will work :
The psychophysical relationship to our own instrument
Emotion through sensation (qualities, rhythms and intentions)
The Psychological Gesture
The directive questions to the character
Imaginary centers and bodies, making it possible to embody the character (characterization)
Improvisation and letting go
The psychophysical relation to the public (reaching the public)
